At the end of the year 2005, the OZONE team leaves in the southern hemisphere.

South Africa is the destination, and the finishing  is to make distance in parapente, and especially let us discover a country, whose landscapes are varied and so beauti ful.

I am invited as  unique paramotorist, here there is a  short story  of this beautiful adventure, with few photographs added. Here the team

We left for 3 weeks trip in a superb truck, fitted out in "the bus of bush". We are  surprised to see here with this heat  those animals left "walk by the empereur"... (but after a quick dive in the sea, one can understand ...) Photo Mike CAVANAGH

After one day of truck on beautiful tracks, here we are : first stage of the desert of Karoo: Springbok. We meet our team of winch experts : Thays and Arnold  whom are going to give us explainations immediately : desert briefing...  enormous dusts, cycles on the ground very powerful (from 0 to 40 km/h in a few seconds), violents thermics, finally conditions are not for everyone... First flights and first cross-country races of the tour.

Short distance on this first flight.... The engine help me  to escape  to the enormous descents between two thermics (sometimes - 6 m/s on ten kilometers) and I  am suddenly at  100 kilometers further , at the meeting point,  waiting for  the truck at the edge of the track.
I  wait for them to come and collect me , under a blazing sun; here strongly advised hat and water! Photo Mathieu ROUANET. The truck arrives finally, and  take on board  all the pilots  on the edge of the track... Photo Mathieu ROUANET

The following days had been a succession of splendid flights, sometimes difficults regarding the aerological conditions. In  paramotor, I am glad to have a sail of this generation, which tends less to close; the ROS125 is very helpful too  for those  altitudes...
